We often confuse perception with reality. They seem like one and the same. As a result we misinterpret things for the way that they really are. Our thoughts and feelings seem real to us, so we conclude that they must be true.
Perception is the lens through which we view our reality: ourselves, others and the world in which we live. However, that lens is based on the ideologies of your parents and previous generations.
Reality is the true state of things. In essence, it’s how things truly are, whether we perceive them to be as such or not. Reality is uncontaminated by human influence or religious beliefs.
